Founders
Chhavi Upadhyay:
Chhavi Upadhyay graduated with a Masters in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford
University. Her team won several high-profile business plan contests such as Stanford E-Challenge Competition and LightSpeed
Summer Grant competition. At Stanford her paper "Reflection in Interaction" was published
in AI & Society International Journal and her case study on "Google Checkout" was
published at Stanford Case Series. Before joining Vdopia, Chhavi has managed customer projects with several mobile OEMs and ODMs.
Chhavi's undergraduate degree was from IIT Delhi where she graduated among top of her class in 2004. She held many leadership positions at
IIT Delhi, including Institute Secretary of Hindi Samiti, Marketing Coordinator for Rendezvous etc.
Srikanth Kakani:
Srikanth has over 8 years of experience in the software industry in the field of video technologies, large scale distributed systems.
Srikanth has worked most recently at Yahoo, where he worked on search and cross platform development. Before Yahoo, he worked at
EFI as a Sr. Software Engineer where he was part of the founding team that was responsible for software design and development of
their market leading printer products.
Srikanth holds a degree in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and a Masters degree from the Stanford University. Srikanth participates
in several charity programs and also took part in Asha Marathon 2004
Saurabh Bhatia:
Saurabh Bhatia has over 5+ years of Sales and Business Development in businesses in various Indian businesses.
Saurabh has held CEO/Executive positions in Maxcellence - Peak Performance Solutions (www.maxcellence.org) and SCORE -
Insurance Claims Management SW. Saurabh's undergraduate degree was from IIT Delhi.

Suvir Sujan:
Prior to Nexus, Suvir was Co-founder and Co-CEO of Baazee.com, the leading online marketplace in India that merged with eBay in 2004 to form eBay India. Post the merger, Suvir was Country Manager, eBay India and Regional Director, Asia Pacific, PayPal. Suvir also has experience in Management Consulting at the Boston Consulting Group and in Engineering and Product Marketing at Nortel Networks.
Suvir has an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was the Co-President of the South Asian Business Association and a BS in Electrical Engineering (High Distinction) from the University of Maryland at College Park where he was voted Outstanding Senior of the Year. He is a charter member of the Internet and Mobile Association of India and an active mentor to several entrepreneurs across the Internet, Wireless and Retail in India. He is also an angel investor and board advisor to guruji.com (Online Search) and Pangea3 (Legal Outsourcing). He also sits on the board of the Global India Venture Capital Association.
Naren Gupta:
Naren co-founded Integrated Systems Inc (ISI), a leading embedded software company, where he served as the President/CEO for fifteen years. He took ISI public and subsequently merged it with Wind River Systems. Naren continued to serve on the board of Wind River till its recent acquisition by Intel. He also serves on the boards of Red Hat (RHT) and Tibco (TIBX), as well several privately held companies and non-profit organizations.
Naren has over 15 years of early and early-growth stage investment experience in US and India. Several of his earlier investments have had successful public exits, including Digital Link (IPO), E-Tek Dynamics (IPO), RightNow (IPO), Numerical Technologies (IPO, acquired by Synopsis) and Speedera Networks (acquired by Akamai).
He is a co-founder of Nexus Venture Partners.
Naren holds a B. Tech. degree and is a recipient of President's Gold Medal from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi; an MS from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Naren has received distinguished alumni awards from Caltech and IIT and was elected a Fellow of the IEEE. He is an active advisor to entrepreneurs worldwide.
Jishnu Bhattacharjee:
Jishnu brings to Nexus several years of investing and operating experience in hi-technology start-ups. His interests include software and services, internet, digital media, mobile, systems and cleantech.
Prior to joining Nexus, Jishnu worked as an associate at Foundation Capital, a silicon-valley based venture capital firm. Before joining the VC industry, he held engineering management and product management roles at a leading communication systems start-up, Scintera Networks and a leading circuits and systems company, Maxim Integrated Products.
Jishnu is an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he ran the Venture Capital Club and South Asian Students Association and co-led GSB Principal Investing Conference. Jishnu is also an MS, EE from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BTech from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has more than twelve US patents issued and has authored six IEEE papers. Jishnu is a member of IEEE and is actively involved with TIE.

Pradeep Guha:
Pradeep Guha has over 30 years of rich experience in various facets of the media industry. He is currently a Venture Advisor at Nexus Venture Partners, and also Director of the International Advertising Association. Until recently, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Zee
Network, where he helped revive the groups flagship channel, Zee TVs fortunes, making it one of the most-watched channels in the country.
Earlier, Mr. Guha was the President and Director of Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd where he successfully turned around its flagship newspaper and
magazine brands (including The Times of India, Filmfare and Femina). He is credited with his brand-oriented sales approach that rewrote the
game of media marketing. Today, Mr. Guha serves on the boards of several companies in the media and entertainment industry, including
Mukta Arts, Future Media and Whistling Woods International.
Deepak Bhagat:
Deepak Bhagat has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in driving strategy, technology direction and
engineering development of industry-leading Data Center and Infrastructure Platforms such as Grid Computing Platforms,
Networking and Security Systems, Operating Systems and Virtualization solutions, and Server platforms at Sun Microsystems
and Hewlett-Packard. These Technologies and products have set Industry directions and have generated billions of dollars
of revenues.
Additionally, Deepak has held leadership, board, and advisory positions at startups in the areas of Data
Center Automation, Video Ad Delivery Platforms, Networking in startups such as Vikroon Systems, Centrata, Vdopia,
Cinespots, Yume Networks, Metamata and Niksun. Deepak holds an M.S. from Case Western Reserve University and B.Tech
from IIT Kanpur. He is the recipient of prestigious IIT Kanpur Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Rohit Sharma:
is a silicon valley entrepreneur and created the optical switching technology that led to the founding of ONI Systems in 1997 (venture funded by MDV, KPCB, Canaan, Fidelity, Chase, Bowman). He served as ONI Systems EVP and CTO overseeing all aspects of technology development and strategy at the time of its IPO and secondary offerings in 2000. In this role, he also represented ONI at various industry events and investor conferences.
He later served as SVP & CTO of Metro Networking after ONI's merger with Ciena in 2002. Recently, Rohit spent two years as an Investment Partners at Mohr, Davidow Ventures (MDV) in the IT team and previously founded MetaMachinix Inc, a desktop virtualization startup in 2004. Earlier in his career, he was with Telecom Research Labs in Canada. He holds several US patents in the areas of computing, signal processing, and optical switching and networking.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada where he supports a Chair position in Digital Communications and BSc from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India where he supports the annual business plan competition.
